Keep Showing Up. Keep Growing.
David Rogers Sr. writes from the middle of real life: a marriage still in progress, a ministry built on patience, and a faith that has been tested and kept.
He believes difficult seasons are not the final word. Growth is a daily choice, and he knows from his own story that grace can meet a person exactly where he is.
Together, David and his wife, LaVern, have spent more than 18 years in pastoral ministry. They planted Restoration Bethel Ministries, a Christ-centered community church, and lead it with a shared commitment to serving people where they are.
David worked more than 27 years at Sam’s Club while serving in ministry. He knows the daily pull of providing for a family, leading a congregation, and facing personal struggles without a clear map. As a bivocational pastor, he has learned that calling often takes root in ordinary places, long before conditions feel ideal.
David and LaVern have shared more than 26 years of marriage, and that marriage is the foundation of his writing. Keep Showing Up grew out of their experience: the hard conversations, the prayers said on difficult nights, the forgiveness that had to be chosen again, and the decision to stay committed on ordinary days.
Beyond marriage, his writing speaks to wisdom, emotional maturity, and the resilience it takes to keep going when life gets heavy.
His late mother loved Jesus with a steadiness that David still carries with him. Her example taught him that serving people is an act of compassion, humility, and honesty. It continues to shape the way he leads, writes, and loves.
